From the 2019 solo show 'American Commerce" at Winston Wachter Fine Art in NYC. A fictitious duo, struggle to discover, transport and steal precious cargo. They are part suited bigwigs, part uniformed laborers, part court jesters and part tumultuous looters. Their actions are loud, bold and executed without question. I doubt they notice that their flashy diamond suits leave a trail of obvious crumbs to follow. I suspect they do look in the mirror with a pride as they pack a box of stolen material. Always, they seem to be pushing to make and take what is big, to claim it as their own. Like a fragile romance, it’s unclear whether they are working together or about to undermine one another. Laboring hard, striving to move and shift their goods, they may be pawns or full participants in their slightly shady trades.
